SolarDesignTool is currently the only web app on the market that offers the capability to create a fully-engineered, permittable PV design and an accompanying permit package in literally minutes. It’s something that we have been working on for years. However during that time, the UI has become fairly outdated and in much need of improvement. People loved it in 2012, but we understand that now it’s in need of a major overhaul. 

It is now time for us to focus our development efforts on upgrading to the latest UI technologies so that your experience using the app can be as pleasurable as possible. While it only takes a few minutes to go from a preliminary sales design to a permit package, creating the initial preliminary design and layout can be cumbersome. This is especially true when the roof has several obstructions, and the panels are to be installed on multiple roof faces. Our immediate development objective is to make this part of the design process effortless. In the near term, we will be making small incremental enhancements to the current UI. Concurrently, we will be developing an entirely new suite of tools for drawing out roofs and creating layouts.
